Hello,

I would like to be able to email the end user with their UPS tracking number. The best solution would be to have the tracking number on the account maintenance.

Any ideas on how to set this up??

any body know of a tutorial on tracking numbers?

I saw a thread over in vm1.0 that showed a hack that got tracking numbers right in the account maintenance of vm - so the end user never had to go to UPS. I would really like to set my site up this way but don't know how.

Any help?

After making the updates - I am curious, will I be able to see anything that indicates the tracking hack is working? - Do I need to wait until an actual order comes through and is being shipped??

Hello,

You need to manually add the UPS tracking number to an order. After you have done that, you can login to the frontend and go to Account maintenance, tracking status can be seen there.

Um how do I manually add the UPS tracking number? - do I need to go to UPS my self to get the tracking number?
This part confuses me - I see the place to enter the tracking number in the admin -> orders back end, and I assume that once an order is placed UPS will assign a tracking number?

Not sure where you usually get your tracking number from but in my case I get it from the company that ships my goods.

That is where you have to manually enter the number. It does not happen automatically.

I'm using J1.5.8 and VM 1.1.2 Can I use this hack?

i do NOT see the place to add this number. i'm in the backend in orders and don't see a place to enter ups tracking number
