Title: Fedex Module being finished - you interested?

Hi gang,

Greg, the programmer that is doing some custom work for me in Virtuemart, has volunteered to finish the Fedex module that fell by the wayside earlier this year.

However, he'd like to have a spec, so we need to put one together. Please chip in with your FedEx needs (this should be a standard Fedex type mod, not full of specialties that won't appeal to all).

Finally, Greg says he'll do this for free, but I think that if he puts in the effort to finish this thing, we should pay him, don't you agree?

I'll start off by saying I can kick in $50. Anyone care to match me?

For the spec (feel free to embellish/change/expand):

(Fedex fees and surcharges outlined here:

- pull live FedEx API rates for the US for all standard shipping methods
- able to choose which of the Fedex services are to be used in admin (Fedex First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight and 2 Day Express Saver, Fedex Ground and Fedex Home)
- able to set fuel surcharges in admin
- able to set additional handling surcharge (for each service)
- able to set dangerous goods surcharge in admin (for each service)
- able to set Delivery Area surcharge in admin (for each service)
- able to set rural surcharges in admin (for Fedex Ground and Home)
- able to set Alaska/Hawaii surcharges in admin
- able to input and update lists of zip codes for rural, Alaska, Hawaii
- able to set residential vs. commercial rate surcharges

OK, who else?

I haven't heard from anyone on this, and the programmer is waiting, so I'm going to give him the specs as I have them now.....

I am also interested in this if it would include international shipping support becuase we are located in Europe and ship to all over the world.

Please let me know if this is possible.

You'll want to talk to gregdev about that, he's the programmer. But we *do* have a working Fedex module, I'm running it on my site, and it works great.

Is the module available for download? If so where can I get it? Any info on one that gets live rates from usps.com?
