We are currently on Joomla v4., VM v4.2.12 and beginning an upgrade to J5 and PHP8.3
Is VM4.6.4 the best choice for a stable installation?
Does it have a working TCPDF library bundled with it? On the TCPDF github site (https://github.com/vdm-io/tcpdf/issues), it says it is only compatible up to Joomla 4, so we're confused about that and thought we may need a different component. But the VM download page (https://virtuemart.net/download) seems to imply, by the text in the download button, that it comes with a working TCPDF library.

VirtueMart 4.6.4 works on Joomla 5.
The package is bundled with tcpdf.
I always recommend to do a test update on a copy of your site on localhost (WAMPserver, MAMP...) first.
That way you can see if something needs your attention.
And while you are working on your testsite, your production site keeps working.
