Title: After update old module updates show
Post by: p.barg on May 15, 2025, 11:56:32 AM
Hello,
after updating VM to the latest version (4.4.10) I noticed that there are still some modules shown for update (search module, brand module and others with version 4.0.23). I think those are old modules but am not sure why they are listed.
Any idea of how I can get rid of the updates listed?

Thanks, Petra

Happening to me on 3 Systems. Wondered if they are now called something else or the update files haven't been updated in the installer and the updater has got confused.  ;)

Joomla 4.4.13
VirtueMart 4.4.10 11120
PHP 8.3

Those are old update sites and no longer valid.

Go to SystemUpdateUpdate Sites. Then find and disable/delete them.

So are these modules not updated as part of the main Component or have they just forgotten to update the XML file version numbers for these modules?

Above solution would mean removing the updates but as they are part of the Main Virtuemart (theoretically) then that would mean deleting the update site for Virtuemart wouldn't it? Therefore you wouldn't get update notifications for the main component or are they different update URLs?

The Virtuemart core modules and plugins are included in the VirtueMart All-in-One (AIO) package. They are updated automatically during installation, eliminating the need for separate update sites for each extension. Moreover, these update sites are not maintained, creating confusion, so it is better to get rid of them.

Ah thanks, indeed the rebuild option fixes the issue :)

Hello guys, Jumbo is right, we should just remove it. What happened? Somehow I overwrote the phing variables with a plain value. So the modules are updated, but show a wrong number. That is fixed in the svn already.
