Title: Multiple UK VM stores is there a good payment plugin for them all?

Hi

I have searched a lot and can't find a definitive answer so far. I am using VirtueMart 4.0.6 10690 on Joomla 3 and have 6 stores. Currently using PayPal standard and although it mostly works I would like an alternative payment option that customers can choose so they can pay by card for example if for some reason they are anti PayPal or on the rare occasion there is a PayPal outage

I would prefer something that takes customers offsite to a payment gateway of some kind so I don't have to worry about taking card details myself and PCI DSS etc

I know there are multiple payment providers that may offer such a thing and you can get bespoke Virtuemart payment plugins but what I am looking at specifically is a payment plugin that I can roll out across all sites and a payment provider that can handle the payment and has the flexibility to work across multiples sites. E.g What I cannot find a definitive answer to is whether you can have a single account with one of the providers and it will handle multiple sites or would I need 6 individual setups for each site?

Just wondered if anyone has faced this same scenario and if anyone knows of a good solution to this with a provider that offers payment fees at the equivalent or better rate than PayPal?

It's having a single business bank account that matters more than the number of stores. I switched to Stripe from PayPal for my client sites and have found it to be a much more reliable option.

I should add that I use the Stripe plugin from VirtuePlanet and have had no issues with it, having originally used Stripe as the card processor for our B&B business. There is undoubtedly some customer resistance to using PayPal nowadays, as there was in the old days for a different reason when it was necessary to have (or to open) a PayPal account to use their payment system on a website.

Though with PayPal Advanced Credit Card payments you can process credit cards without PayPal branding.
There are no monthly fees and depending on country the transaction rate is usually lower than with a standard PayPal payment.
As far as the customer is concerned they have made a normal credit card transaction.
It also allows a number of alternative payment methods again at a lower rate than standard PayPal.

Thanks very much for the suggestions and advice, going to take a look at those solutions so I can give some additional options on the sites
