This is the side menu to the left of the page when in VM and above the Become a supported banner. see attached
I know it should be there as i have another couple of experimental VM4 sites, i have updated it to VirtueMart 4.0.7 10717 which is the same as another one.
any ideas please ?

Try enabling the new Admin template in configuration. Or/and do a Ctrl+f5 to refresh the cache.

Nope - i prefer the old admin template for now, switching backwards and forwards and lots of refreshing but it doesnt want to show up!
