Virtuemart version: com_virtuemart.4.0.7.10718_package_or_extract.zip
Joomal 4 version: Joomla! 4.2.3 Stable
J3 work Ok

If you click on sort by price front end in products list nothing happen tested J4
link when click sort by price is

product-list?keyword=

I believe should be as in J3

product-list/by,product_price/dirAsc?language=en-GB&keyword=
