I tested also J3 vith same version and all working as should
So in J4 if you click in product front end, link to the Manufacturer without Joomla menu, you will see it points only to:
?tmpl=component
If you create Joomla menu with Manufacturer Default Layout, enter these menu and try access Manufacturer from there you can't
Click on 1 manufacturer in menu result link path:
https://mya-site/shop/manufacturers?tmpl=component
So in J4 if you click link to the Manufacturer with Joomla menu created, you will see it points only to:
https://mya-site/shop/manufacturers?tmpl=component

J4 Still dont work,
On product page you can select manufacture but modal will show you only menu with default manufacturer layout.
Problem is this menu, if you go visit this menu there you can see list of logos but you can't select specific logo and view each product.
