We're having an issue where our cart is doing strange things when adding and or removing items from the cart. I can add an item from the cart from a specific category and continue shopping and move to a different category and it looks like the item is removed from the cart. If I go back to the original category, the item appears to return. Other times we can remove an item from the cart and continue shopping and later the item removed seems to have reappeared from the cart. I am not sure what is going on.

sounds like a caching issue .. switch off any enabled caches as a test
