I am running a Joomla site v3.9.20 and VM 3.8.6 and PHP v7.3.23 and I have a problem when checking out the shopping Cart.
An error occurs: Call to undefined function mcrypt_encrypt().
My ISP tells me I need to upgrade my site since this function has been removed!
Can you please tel me what needs to be upgraded?

I would assume it is some 3rd party extension that is using mcrypt as your versions are very recent

perhaps payment plugin?

sure payment plugin (old version)

We use goozle for gopay, because mcrypt was removed on 2016
