Title: Paypal Plus (germany) plugin lets crash shop
Post by: Stefan Korth on September 18, 2019, 10:30:23 AM
Hi, I have issues with the paypal plus plugin by plugins.online-store.co.uk - and yes, I reached out to them too, no answer yet.

Maybe someone else had these issues. The plugin worked well, until one day. Not sure if I have updated something, I cannot put my finger on what changed.

System: Joomla 3.9.11
VM: 3.6.0
Plugin: plugins.online-store.co.uk Paypal Plus SCC
website:https://www.customdrums.de

direct jump to issue: https://www.customdrums.de/de/shop/cart
(I deactivate the plugin, as it forces reload and makes checkout impossible)

I set up everything new, deleted the plugin, installed new etc, still it crashes. The plugin causes the website to reload every few seconds when activated, and gives me this screen:
(see image)

As the plugin sure is working for other users, just not on my site, I assume the issue lies somewhere else, but I have no idea what.

- I changed PHP to various versions (7.1/2/3),
- I checked the security token and key
- whatelse should I check?

perhaps try  the latest VM3.6 bug fix release http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/1176/com_virtuemart.3.6.1.10120_package_or_extract.zip ( on a test site!)

there has been some discussion about non compatibility of older payment plugins with VM3.6.0

also check for console errors as the screen looks like a JS reload

"aus technischen grunden konnen zurzeit keine zahlungen verarbeitet werden"

That message is contained in an iframe which is showing output direct from PayPal.

If the account is setup correctly it usually indicates a temporary problem with the PayPal server,

but check again the

Rest Client ID and Rest Client Secret

and if the account is set to live or sandbox.

These can also produce the same error.

VM 3.6.0 should now be working with PayPal Plus

However it will currently not work with the VM 3.6.1 bugfix.
