Title: Mfg details layout problem
Post by: andrewm57 on March 25, 2019, 23:04:53 PM
This page is a mfg default layout that lists the mfgs from the Collections on the menu:
http://j3.fineleatherfurniture.com/index.php/collections

Under Collections are mfg detail layout links to each of the mfgs. However all of those pages are empty. For instance Collections > American Gathering:
http://j3.fineleatherfurniture.com/index.php/collections/american-gathering

Whereas the American Gathering link from the top level Collections page works with a funky URL:
http://j3.fineleatherfurniture.com/index.php/shop/manufacturer/american-gathering-9?cfm[0]=0

Any help on:
1) why the mfg detail menu links don't work
2) why the Collections page mfg links are odd

TIA,
Andrew.

Hello

You have a custom template template and Your template provider is the right person to talk to.

How Did you create the links under menu-collections ? Turning off seo could help You debug this.

The funky links under collections are probably related to Your template or some SEO plugin.

Jumbo of virtueplanet.com (https://www.virtueplanet.com/forum/) is the template developer to talk to.

The menu items were added with the VM > Mfg default layout for the Collections item, and VM > Mfg details layout for it's children - standard process.

I turned off all SEO & VM additional components, native SEO, language overrides, and switched to Protostar template.

Both problems still exist. Any further ideas?

Have you tried using bs3 template settings ? This results in nosniff error, turn it off.

Thanx, that pointed me in the right direction. At some point I'd seen that the template I'm using had Bootstrap3, so I switched to that in VM config. Going back to None/Legacy made the mfg details page work. Template conflict?

It didn't fix the cfm[0]=0 issue on the mfg default page. However those individual mfg links work, just not the best for SEO.

Is there documentation for the Template and Layouts section of VM configuration?

This is a future feature of VM, not quite ready for now, will prepare links and function calls for bootstrap.
I think none is the right choice for now.
