Title: What kind of hosting do i need for my joomla website with virtuemart?
Post by: tonyshaw on November 12, 2018, 13:57:50 PM
with virtuemart?
I m looking for a good web hosting company, any suggestion? Any difference in terms of price, performance, and reliability? What about customer support? Some might not respond during weekend.

For a joomla website with virtuemart, I guess I need a linux server (php?), supporting mysql with phpmyadmin. Do I need SSL for shopping cart? Probably paypal with be one of the payment methods. For online credit card payment, what do i need?

For the visitors to send online email, is that something to do with Jmail? Regarding the online email interface, does not look like squirrel support mail forwarding, any other choices that can forward mails?

In addition, how many user interfaces are available for linux server? Which one is more suitable for the above case?

I m a novice, please let me know if anything else I missed. Thanks for the time since I got too many questions to ask. Initiative Q (http://qinvitation.com/) NUTRA THRIVE (https://fordogsreviews.com/) Noom Diet Plan (https://noomdietplan.com/)

You can use most hosting companies, it depend how much user are online at same time and the weight of your website.
For some little shops i use shared host and it work perfectly, some use VPS and for bigger shop dedicated server.
You can begin with a shared host supporting SSL to begin your activity and switch to a bigger one after because price is from 5$ for a shared server to 500$ for some dedicated servers.

hmmm - there are some very well known hosts often seen on here that give users endless problems - Hostgator is one,
I have had problems just with simple Joomla installs on the Italian company aruba.it and a particularly useless Swiss host infomaniak.com

most of the companies owned by Endurance International Group (EIG) https://researchasahobby.com/full-list-eig-hosting-companies-brands/ I would avoid...
