Sorry to bring up this subject once again. In the other posts I could not find a solution to my problem.
I'm running Joomla 3.6.5 with php 5.6.30.
For some time I had a problem with updating some VirtueMart payment plugins. Now I re-installed VM & and VM aio vers. 3.2.1 and the not working updates were gone. But so were all products on the frontend. The site has languages de_de and fr_fr with a language switcher. I already checked in the database, but all tables have the correct endings with de_de or fr_fr respectively. Administrator language is de_de.
Because this concerns a live website, I checked the update first in a test installation. So the state before and after the update can be compared:

Here I can see categories, but not the products in the categories.
Any idea what's the problem?

Layout settings for VM3.2.1 have changed a lot compared to VM3.0.18. Try to use the tips about to where to look for these new settings :
