Title: Sort order based on override price?
Post by: newsboy on January 13, 2017, 06:40:22 AM
Hi,
My problem is same, like an old post, found here:
https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=117212.0
As the topic starter say: "on my site all of our products has override price .. on the category view i have sort order by price... but virtuemart ordering by final price and not the override price..."
In this topic there is a solution, but works only VM 2.0.26d, and i have the latest VM 3.0.18.
Is there any solution this problem?
Thanks for your help!

Hello newsboy,

I just downloaded 3.0.18 and I see the proposed solution exists (from https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=117212.0). So, it should work. The suggested solution is working only if the admin has marked the product price "override" and then entered the new price (that was my customer's case). I do not know if you have other needs or problem.

I installed the latest default joomla/virtuemart bundle and initially I saw that the products were not showing in categories (only featured and latest), so ordering would not "work" as the were not visible... - in view/tpl is see something like "if($this->showproducts){"...

I changed the menu settings not to show featured/latest/top ten and product categories are shown with product price sorted correctly if it is overridden (in vm configuration > Product Sort Order Settings > Available Sort-by fields you must select
Product Price also so this field is available in select box).

Hope it helps :)

Hi fuzzfree,

I really appreciate that you reply for me! Thanks!
Unfortunately it still doesn't work for me... :(
You say:
QuoteThe suggested solution is working only if the admin has marked the product price "override"
How working is this?
I setup the product override the following method:

But the product sort order doesn't seem correctly:

What can i do wrong?
