A client wanted a separate layout for a frontpage which I achieved with a single column layout in Gantry 5 Hydrogen template and virtuemart frontpage component selection for the menu item.
The following occurs when Search Engine Friendly URLs set to Yes
I found even if I manually select the regular two column template (customised for all other pages) in template configuration, the Virtuemart Product View instead loads the template bound to the front page.
if Use full category tree for product links in SEO configuration is ticked, the issue is resolved, so the problem appears to originate here.
