Title: Shopper-field in product? Any possibilities?
Post by: mrmysterious on June 04, 2016, 18:43:10 PM
Hello virtuemart community,

I'm new to virtuemart and got a question about my specific need for enabling the costumer to give details to product themselves.
Background: I'm currently setting up a business that should deliver goods from any big store to the costumer (like instacard in US) BUT WITHOUT having access to
the product database of the malls themselves.
So my customers shall place orders for products in general (e.g. pizza) but - with the different brands the mall leads not available - the customer should be able to
give his specific whishes to that product into a textfield underneath the product BEFORE the cart-view (e.g. brand xy, family-size, vegetarian ....).
As far as i figured out yet, I found no chance to achieve that, as those shopper-fields have their fixed appearance at other places than product view AND custom-fields won't do it as they don't gather text from shoppers.
So could you think of any possible solution or maybe an recent plugin?

cheers,
mrm

Hello,

thanks so much for that precious hint. I've tried it and am satisfied so far.
Only the size of that little field seems too small to me.
Any possibilities to get it some bigger?
Any other solution? Maybe an external Plugin that would provide an editor field, so that customers could
mark up some text in bold letters ect...?

Thanks for your efforts,

cheers,
mrm

Hello,

@jenkinhill: Thank you, that will do better than the little field before.
