What is the best way to override the PDF layout? .. Its not very beautiful and we are thinking of doing a override of this. Where is those files located?

If you are talking about the product page PDF it is in productdetails view folder default_pdf.php .

@golub you expect an answer with so little information provided, especially no URL? I'll guess that you are using a commercial template with overrides which you will have to edit.
