Ok, so i figured out how to get it so people can leave reviews on the site. If you click on the item and you click reviews tab you can see the reviews. When you look at the product later it still says no reviews. Where do i fix this?

methodically check your configuration in VM admin...

Also it could be a template problem. Check with Protostar template (assuming you use Joomla 3.4.5)

the standard Joomla template that comes with joomla..

sounds like you need to have a good look thru your site and documentation
