Title: Configuration of Virtumart: Shop > Shop > Shopper Information
Post by: Dante on December 05, 2015, 07:24:03 AM
I'm just starting to setup Virtumart 3.0.12 and have found some of the initial fields I've encountered to be vaguely described in the manual and only referenced in the context of a problem on the forum. So fair warning -this may be the first of a long string of remedial "what is it questions" for what I find isn't clearly addressed in the manual or on the forum.

QUESTION: What is the purpose of the "Shopper Number / ID:" field? Why does it matter and what should I do with it?

It appears that the ID is auto-generated which has me wondering why the field is editable?

hmm.. I wonder as well... it is a unique identifier .. can't think of any reason for being editable

Well the thread has been read over 55 times and still no clue. Does anyone know if there are developer notes anywhere that might shed some light on this?

55 times  ->  don't think search engines will answer..  ;)

If it is important to you.. (no one else seems to think so)  just make it readonly

It is only editable if you are logged in as superadmin. It is not editable by "normal" shoppers when they are logged in.

Is the the Frontend your talking about???

NEVER test your shop as anything other than a guest, assigned Shopper groups or default registered users
