I'm running windows 7 and XAMPP to test the Joomlashine 'Force' template (Free- http://demo.joomlashine.com/joomla-templates/jsn_force/free/index.php) before purchasing the Pro version.
I installed Virtumart as per instructions. Installation appeared successful, but the shopping cart was not visible or functioning on my site. In trying to resolve this issue, I attempted to follow Cmsmart's Virtuemart installation instructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf1_v7N3NH0, and found that Virtumart was not listed in: Menu Manager/Home/Featured Articles; so I could go no further.
Any insights into what could be wrong with my installation would be appreciated.
If you are just starting with VirtueMart it is best to install on the default Joomla templates, Beez or Protostar and not complicate things with a commercial template.
It sounds like you have not used Joomla before or understand the menu system?

Instead of tring to change the "Home" menu item create a new menu item of type VirtueMart/Front page and start from there. This tut is for Joomla 2.5 but the principle still applies for Joomla 3 http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/joomla-25/link-to-virtuemart-store-front
