I'm running Joomla 3.4.3 and an upgraded (from v1) VM 3.0.9.
I have 2 payment methods:
Sagepay
Standard (Invoice)
I have 2 customer groups
'Normal'
Trade
When a Normal customer checks out using Sagepay, both the vendor and the customer receive an email.
When a Trade customer checks out using VM Standard, only the customer receives an email.
Config Settings:
Shop
Use the vendor email address - unchecked
Checkout
Default Order Status to send email to vendor:
-Pending
-Confirmed by shopper
-Confirmed
Any ideas why the email is not being sent to the vendor for this account type?

VM 3.0.9 very outdated. Joomla 3.4.5 is likely to get hacked. Update both asap. If it still does not work, check settings in VM configuration -> checkout.

Initial was an old post Jörgen
but yes.. check the status set when confirmed (Pending? etc) and your settings for when the emails are sent
Pending will never send an email
