I was wondering - is there an extension for setting times for when certain products can be ordered? Or is there one for when all products of a certain category can be ordered? (During these times other products in other categories can be ordered).
maybe with an template override and display the addtocart button only in this specific time
If you mean by hard code thats probably not efficient. Its not totally urgent as its only something I thought of myself, but it would be very useful.
I guess what your requesting is a plugin that can be run at certain times (cron job perhaps) that sets certain cats to "catalogue mode"

Yeah setting them to catelogue mode during certain times would be cool. For example a category might only be available during 16:00 - 18:00 as part of a happy hour promotion.
