Hello,

Is the latest VM 2.x up to date in terms of security fixes? (on par with the v3.x branch?)

yes. VM3 has a completly new security architecture and so we had there 1 problem, but solved. Vm2.6 got audited last autumn.

Thank you. A follow-up question would be: is VM 2.x still set to receive security updates in the future? Is there an official word on this?

We are considering sticking with VM 2.x a little longer, to prioritize other tasks. Unless there is a potential security deficit on the radar.

Yes, if necessary there will be security updates to VM2.6.x - and as has been previously stated, security support for Joomla 2.5.28 as well if required.
