Title: upgrade to Joomla 3.4.1
Post by: oab on May 15, 2015, 11:13:02 AM
Hi
I'm running VM3.0.8 and after updating to Joomla 3.4.1 adding or modifing shipping methods and payment methods no longer works. No errors show, just nothing happens. This happened on an online site and offline using xampp. Any suggestions please.

Hi
Thanks for download link. Downloaded and installed, upgraded virtuemart to 3.0.9 but the save and save & close buttons still didn't work.
Deleted website and uploaded backup copy Joomla 3.3.6 VM3.0.2 and everything works fine. Upgraded VM to 3.0.9 everything fine. Upgraded to Joomla 3.4.1 and the buttons stopped working again. Only for shipping methods and payment methods. The buttons highlight but don't actually do anything when clicked. Adding categories and products works fine.
Thanks

Hi
Thought I'd raise this once more as nothing has resolved this issue over the last month. As soon as I update to Joomla 3.4.1 the save and save/close buttons don't work. The last couple of days I've done several clean J3.4.1 installs offline using MAMMP on a Mac then installed VM3.0.9 and still those buttons don't work. Have created myself as Vendor etc but nothing. This isn't a hiccup on an installation as it's happening every single time, both online and offline.
Thanks

Hi
I've been more tests today with same result. Clean install of J3.3.6 and VM3.0.9 and everything if fine. Upgrade to J3.4.1 and save save/close buttons don't work. Clean install J3.4.1 and buttons don't work. When right clicking save button to inspect element on those buttons I get the attached results. With J3.3.6 there seems to be four functions but with J3.4.1 there seems to be only one. Is J3.4.1 dropping the functions so the buttons don't know what do do ? I may not be reading that right ?  Anyway I'll now keep my Joomla installations at 3.3.6 and ignore upgrades. If i get too far behind and it still doesn't work in a year or so I guess I'll have to switch to another cart. Shame as I've been using VM for a few years now.
Thanks

The images are very helpful!

I wondered why you are the only one to report this, and now I see that you are using Hathor as the BE template. The save functions work just fine in J3.4.1 with Isis in the BE, which just about everybody uses, so the issue is related to a change in Hathor between Joomla versions.  I'll pass this on to the VM devs to see if we need to change the code to work with the latest Hathor - but need also to be sure that it won't break the function for older Joomla version users. The J3.4 release has caused a lot of problems with its function changes.

Hi

100% right, I've just switched one of my tests to Isis, updated to 3.4.1 and it's working fine. I'll carry on with updating my sites and stick to Isis. I guess I got used to using Hathor a while back as I preferred the layout.
Many Thanks
