Title: How to customize Availability (stock) from number to words on the product page
Post by: aichauhan on May 11, 2015, 22:57:10 PM
Hello!

I'm new to virtuemart and building my first virtuemart site, I'm facing a problem on the product page. The issue is that, the availability option requires number/quantity of the stock to show on the product page, I want to change this method, I just want to show like this: Availability: In stock
For your illustration I'm attaching a picture of a store which is developed on megento.

Please help me regarding this, I will be very thankful to everyone.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for not describing the Joomla/VM/PHP version and site URl.

Below are the details:

URL: www.okharido.pk

Joomla version: 3.3.1

PHP Version: 5.3.29

Virtuemart 2

Note: I could not find the exact version of the VM2, I bought the template and install its quickstart package. VM version is not showing in the main VM Control Panel.

You cannot be using VM2 as that version does not work with Joomla 3.x  - Your Joomla version is well out of date and insecure, so this may also be true of your VirtueMart version.  Insecure versions should never be used on a live store website.  See http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683

Your commercial template already uses template overrides, so you will need to edit to code in templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/sublayouts/products.php  to change the stock display. You may have to ask your template supplier how to do this if you don't know how.  See http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0
