Very cryptic.  Do you want it to change on its own for different shoppers or do you want to change the default to something else?  Maybe the docs could help - http://docs.virtuemart.net/faqs/92-how-to-change-the-shop-default-currency.html

Thank you, Kelvyn.

I want to replace the US currency ($) with the ZAR currency (R).

I have done so in the SHOP (see attached image) and I have also published the ZAR currency only, but the $ still appears.

I have a User ID changed to 42 and it solved the problem.
