Title: Problem widening template
Post by: chrisdevelop on April 03, 2015, 21:47:58 PM
Hi Everyone

I hope you can help because i have been searching for 3 weeks and still at a loss.

I am running Joomla! 2.5.11 with the latest Virtumart package, with the default template    mowebso_ecommerce

I am trialling this before full purchase, and testing is going well.  That is except for widening the template, you can see the website here www.chat-network.co.uk

We want to test setting the template for variable so that it fits all screens, or make a fixed width (i.e.Expanding the width) by 2" each side.

There is no documentation on the template that covers this.  Can anyone give guidance to how we widen the width of this template.

Regards
Chris

First you are using an old and insecure Joomla version. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0

Second, your site requires login to view. So nobody can view it.

Third, the VM component will take the full width allocated to the main/maincontent div. That width is controlled by your template, so use Firebug to see if you can make the div wider with css, rewrite the template, or ask the template developer for support. The default template in current Joomla/VM stable full packages is VMBeez, a customised version of the Joomla Beez5 template.
