Title: vm - stockable variants not in installer?
Post by: Ext.Kerwejugend on March 27, 2015, 19:22:06 PM
Hello all!

I just downloaded VM3 with this link: http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/924/com_virtuemart.3.0.6.2_extract_first.zip
Then I installed core and AIO but I miss the plugin mentioned above. Isn't this available in this version anymore?

Thank you!

No stockable variants are no longer a separate plugin

You should look at the child variant

hm? Nooo, come on, Hutson!

The multivariant really shows the new power and I promise, that there are already new options in the pipe

Muuhhh...

Milbo - They are still supported using a different and new method

There is no longer a separate plugin

Starting at the multivariant seems like a big a leap to make therefore, to get you started, look at:-

Once you get your head around how this functions, you may also look at a more complex configuration

Agreed. The multivariant is excellent.

It has a few glitches, the main one being that we need the parent to have the option of being non-stock-non-orderable

If the parent product is out of stock then all variants are also out of stock unless you list them all as seperate products. It sucks, but it works

To explain this better, if you have t-shirts in red green and blue and Red is your parent productand out of stock then green and blue are also treated as out of stock.
