Title: VirtueMart 3 Question
Post by: KoernerVisions10 on March 18, 2015, 07:10:02 AM
Hello All:

I'm brand new to the VirtueMart Forum, and I have a question about a product custom field.

So I have a product and I need to have a dropdown that allows me to add options and increased pricing for the options the customer selects.

For Example, if I offer a shirt and have it in Small to 3XL, I need to have it add another $2.00 to the 3XL shirt.

Also, I need to have the same exact thing like mentioned above, but when you select an option it doesn't modify the price. So like if I have a poster, I offer it in different sizes but for no price difference.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael K.

Great walkthrough just what i needed, thanks!

We had an old 1.19 vm shop where we never really used the features VM had to offer. This time I promised myself to take the time and do some things more efficiently by using more of what VM has to offer. It's quite a learning curve though!

I can understand why many turn around and choose prestashop or woocommerce as these systems at least _looks_ way more simple (I haven't looked that much into them but they make them sound simple to manage).

believe me - Presta is difficult and expensive for plugins - very "clonky" if u want to alter any default behaviour

"Don't forget to click "Save" after doing this. I assume the star symbol is meant to set the default but not working for me."

No, it should mean that a cartvariant has a price (in vm2) in vm3 it is a bit different, should show that it is a either a product attribute shown in the cart or a choice
