Hello,
i have VM 3.0.6.2 and Joomla 3.4.0. I have a problem with an error message on my site : http://www.energie-sante.ch/la-boutique/accueil-boutique.html
That is a new fresh Joomla 3.4.0 + VM installation.
I have JFTP write error, but i dont find where is the problem. The Paypal standard payment dont work, with same error when try to checkout, i dont know if same problem. I have first thinker that was an chmod problem, so i have chmod all to 777 and 666, but no change.
I can't find solution, and dont know where search. Please can you help me before i gonna crazy...
Thanks, Frédéric
what is the error? what folder/file can't be written to?
I dont know. See attachment, i dont have more details.
try using this technique here: http://www.gjcwebdesign.com/joomla-virtuemart-tips/785-joomla-an-error-has-occurred-copy-file-failed.html
to find what file can't write - the code change is similar to copy fail (I think further down in libraries/joomla/filesystem/folder.php) to show the actual file name/s
I have try to do it, but no change of the error message...
Do you have Joomla's FTP layer enabled? If so try with it disabled, as it is rarely needed now.
Hello,
yes, it is this ! I need ftp to install on my server, but if desiccative it, the error message disappear.
But i have another problem, now i can't add to cart...
I just added a product to the cart OK with no error messages.
If you need the ftp layer running to install Joomla extensions then that is a sign of a badly configured server. Because these are rarely seen now I understand that the ftp layer is to be removed form future Joomla releases..
I can't add with my PC on windows XP on this shop, but OK on a test shop just installed on www.energie-sante.ch/test
OK with my Mac with Safari...
On the PC, i have the charging windows run, run, and run again... But the strange thing is in the same server (with /test) it work.
For my host, this is one of the biggest in Switzerland. They say they make difference between FTP and HTTP right, this because i have to use FTP to install...
Just because they are big doesn't make them right (look at 1&1, GoDaddy etc etc ;) )
If you need to use the ftp layer then it means that the ownership of the folders and files is not the same as the php process..
So the install will always be a compromise and you will hit the exact problems you are experiencing.
If they start advising giving 777 permissions run a mile.. ;) ... we had the exact same problems with infomaniak.com (CH) and hosteurope.de and shifted our clients from these hosts - the clients have been for ever grateful since...
Hum... this is Infomaniak... My host.
:'(
Ouch - the bad news is we had endless trouble with them and moved...
