Title: [SOLVED] Is there any way to save products in different languajes yet?
Post by: luisch125 on January 30, 2015, 20:00:12 PM
Good evening. I just updated virtuemart to the latest version (3.0.4). I'm using joomla 3.3.6.

I'm working on a multilanguaje store, but so far, all products are saved on the default site languaje (spanish, in my case). When I choose a different one, the flag is shown correctly, but when the product is saved, the languaje config is lost. Is there something that I'm missing or is it not working correctly?

If that's a work in progress, do anyone knows when it will be fixed?

Thanks.

VM has been multilingual since VM2... you need to find out why it isn't saving

It is maybe j3 related. There are some people in our core team using vm multilanguage. VM3 has even the language fallback or the feature "optional language"

So, any idea? May I have some joomla option missing? However, the rest of the web works fine on both languajes. I can switch between them without any problem. Only Virtuemart fails... My client is a bit stressed, and we still have three more languajes to go.

I say this because I don't know if a solution is exporting the products and reinstalling everything from scratch, or there is some way to figure it out...

Thanks.

I just made a subdomain and installed a fresh version of joomla 3.3.6, default template, and virtuemart 3.0.4 and aio. I have two languajes (spanish and english). I have the same problem. The multilanguaje in virtuemart is not working.

Any clue?

Maybe some conflict between last joomla version and virtuemart?

Over the last couple of days have done 2 new multilingual J3.3.6/VM3.0.4

I would think if it didn't work the forum would be full of complaints

no problems - so it seems just you - which I guess is why no one is answering you..  :(

a server issue?  JS issue?

try a Xampp localhost install to prove that it does work .. at least you have something to argue with your host with..

Which browser do you use?

Ok. I honestly don't know what I did, but it's finally working! I reinstalled virtuemart, reviewed folders permissions (I couldn't install some other extensions, maybe the joomla installation wasn't 100% ok) and made some other tests. I've spent a lot of hours reviewing everything, so I don't know exactly where the problem was, but it's working fine now.

So, I was blaming Virtuemart when it seems it was some other problem...

Thanks anyway!

Edit: One last thing. AIO is not working right. I can install it (the modules are working just fine), but I can't enter AIO itself... Maybe everything is related with the hosting/php/joomla installation/ combination. I don't know...

Ok, thanks. Last time I used virtuemart (about one year ago) AIO still worked as updater...

Actually, for the release of vm3 we changed it again and it should show you all vm related extensions installed on your page. The problem with the AIO is that the tcpdf becomes too big and so it often fails installing due the 2 mb limit.
