Hi !
When i upload my website to server, some thumbnails not showing.
no expert on this but I would just rename the images to "safe" names
My website have more than 1000 products. I can't rename and update its manually. My website in localhost no problem.
then it must be the way your host server handles the names - but as i say - no expert in this stuff - we English speakers solved the problem by getting rid of every stupid letter we could find.. :P
Life is so much easier
I reupload \images\stories\virtuemart\product. Product images are showing but thumbs not showing.
What is the full uri to your thumb, which is not showing? Can you show this thumb, if you put this uri in the addressbar of Firefox?
I check it with Firebug:

I can show this thumb, if i put this url in the addressbar:
In the <img> tag src value is pointing to another file. It points to filetype_jpg.png. Can jou put this file in jouw browser?
It show when i put url to this:
Can you do a "ls -l" on the file "filetype_jpg.png"?
I do not understand.
:D
Ow, I thought you are working on Linux.
Can show the file permissions of the file "filetype_jpg.png"?
I'm using Linux hosting. Permissions of the file "filetype_jpg.png" 644.
I have several joomla/virtuemart sites, none of them has the file "filetype_jpg.png". they do have "filetype_pdf.png" and "filetype_zip.png".
Can you show me a copy of Firefox with the following address: http://localhost/ <secret> /components/com_virtuemart/assets/images/vmgeneral/filetype_jpg.png
You have to fill in <secret> ;-)
Object not found! :P
Aaaahhh!
The value of srt within the img must point to your thumb. Your tumbs are located in the "resized" folder as shown above (the bath)
Yes. It's default. I don't change it. I change hosting and problem appearance.
and if u make a png called filetype_jpg.png and stick it in /components/com_virtuemart/assets/images/vmgeneral/?
I make a filetype_jpg.png and stick it in /components/com_virtuemart/assets/images/vmgeneral/
This is result:

I suppose you want a different thumb for each product?
Can you help me via teamviewer ? :'(
I don't have teamviewer. But I think we are close to a solution.
In virtuemart administrator, products, select a product and goto tab "Product images".
What is the text after "Used thumb url"
If this is something with "filetyp_jpg.png", then upload a new image with "Replace thum" selected.
I have added nearly 1,000 products . And so I can not make out manually . Website is still performing well in the old hosting. The problem occurs when I change hosting. :'(
I understand.
But to fully understand where the error is located, I need to know the text behind "Used thumb url".
I suppose the text on the "old" site is different. Can you confirm this?
Can i give you my website url ? :P
sure.
Send the passwords as a personal message.
Check your inbox message ;D. Thanks !
Your website is too slow at this time. Firefox is just spinning.
If I completely remove the folder where the thumbs are located (..../resized), Virtuemart automaticly recreate the thumbs, if you visit a page of your site. But only if you have the setting: Virutemart / Configuration, tab Templates, "Enable Dynamic Thumbnail Resizing". Do you have this selected?
I tested on my sites (Joomla 2.5 with VM 2.6.14 and Joomla 3.x with VM 3.x).
How did you made the copy from your live site to xampp? With Akeeba?
I'm checked "Enable Dynamic Thumbnail Resizing". I rename the resized folder to other name. Virtuemart automaticly create resized folder but not recreate the thumbs. :-\
I was able to to look in your admin site now.
The text after "Used thumb url" is correct. Your "Safepath" however is NOT. But this is a different topic.
I will NOT install teamviewer (other reasons).
As response to your last response: What is the text after "Used thumb url" of your products on your xampp server?
Problem is probably with the compilation of the GD library on the server. Make a new product with the product image having a simple name, eg newimage.jpg and see if it is choking on the filename.
hmmm - post 2 ->
Quoteno expert on this but I would just rename the images to "safe" names
I really can't see that with file names like this your not going to have trouble..
so the script can't find this horrendously named file and substitutes the "no-image" one
what ever happened to naming conventions .. no caps, no spaces, alpha/numeric - or do only old cruds stick to this now? ;)
On old my hosting, it work well. Example link: http://thanhdang.com.vn/hungthinh/hungthinh/index.php/s-n-ph-m/american-standard/b-n-t-m
I'm try using Akeeba Backup but problem not solved.
I add new product, it show normaly. :'(
