I am trying to figure out how to change the demo vendor name "Washupito's Tiendita" to the name of the shop I'm setting up "North American Safety FR" ...

In doing so, I discovered the below error message... this is my first time setting up VirtueMart. Thank you for any assistance you can offer!!!

Looks like the install has lost its "link" from vendor to user

Just do as the message says and mark your want store admin as a vendor

Please fix this in your phpMyAdmin and set #__virtuemart_vmusers.user_is_vendor = 1 and #__virtuemart_vmusers.virtuemart_vendor_id = 1 to one of your administrator users. Please update all users to be associated with virtuemart_vendor_id 1.

Thank you for responding... I did as it said and it worked. I was just a little nervous to edit php for the first time. Thanks again for the reassurance!

Hi,

I am a beginner when it comes to virtuemart so apologies for the simple question.

I have changed the virtuemart vendor id to the same as my joomla username id but I get the attached error message when I try to change the virtuemart user id in phpmyadmin.

What am I doing wrong?

why are u changing the structure of the table fields? leave alone - you will break your install.

If you are trying to adjust the vendor you should be in Browse - then edit the record

But have you tried to change the vendor via the admin->Tools-> tools & migration -> migration tab
at the bottom -> set store owner?
