Someone can tell me were I can find documentation about the subject? I'm making some testing for a new site with VM3 but this Custom Field is completely different then before and I'm lost!!!

I'm trying to solve the situation using the new "child variant" but <I have the following problems:

1) How it's possible don't permit the selling of the parent product, I have to sell only the child products
2) why are shown the options also in the category page and not only in the selling page of the single product?
3)If I have 2 child and everyone has a custom label different is ok but if I add one child and two of them has the same custom label I can choose only the first variant but not the others? (please see the image enclosed)
