Upgrade to VM 2.9.9.2 is still a nightmare: annoying "Latest models" with tools and corruption of layout (css) and update tables, advised to fix it, only gives errors and no solution.

The website is still 2.5 because first the extensions must be up-to-date and the template is made with Artisteer with some customization. I use css overide: css info from VM copies into template.css. But that didn't prevent me having these problems. Time is getting short. Who can help?

in the mean time I managed to fix the template. But I CANNOT GET RID OF THE SAW AND HAND SHOVEL
The hand saw & shovel sample products were in the earlier VM versions (before 2.6.0 I think). They are certainly not sample data from 2.9.9x (which is all clothing items) so must be left over from an earlier installation.
But how do I not only get rid of them but of the whole "Laatste modellen" module. In the VM Configuration options like Top Ten Products, Featured Products, etc are all unchecked en the number of products for these options are all empty fields!! Still I cannot get rid of it. What do I do wrong??

When I turn off Top Ten, Featured etc in config/templates they do not show on the store home page. Why that does not work for you I have no idea.

I found the problem and fixed it. This issue can be closed

The tools were in the site because bi-lingual setting (legacy). But I got rid in it by disabling
