You probably need to edit/rewrite some template overrides.

SO I goto www/template/<mytemplatename>/com_virtuemart or com_vm_pre_order or mod_virtuemart_cart

Right which one is most probable

Not possible to know without knowing how your template is set up or seeing the site.

just disable the whole override folder com_virtuemart. Check the new layout first, often you dont need the overrides anylonger.
