Title: DropDown has a default word in every DropDown list

I have taken over a VM project running Joomla 2.5.24 & VM 2.6.6.

The previous developer had a word (Gratis) implemented per default in all dropdown lists, take a look a:

Any idea how I take away this word? I´ve review all "Custom Fields" and cannot find any info there.
