Im having the double ordering issue, sometimes the order is created twice for the same user..
when we try to replicate the issue, it was due to double click the order button in the checkout page
So we implemented the fix suggested in the thread, and when we tried to replicate the issue in the firefox browser it was fixed

But the same does not work in IE, though the button is hiding, when we stop after pressing the checkout button and try to click it again, it is creating a duplicate order
can someone post a fix for IE, so that we can stop double ordering?

I must admit, I am not confident with the search myself.
@milbo - your probably not old enough to remember when we had to hand carve each search term in a piece of wood and release them to the etherwebs
I used to carve them in stone. That took quite a time..............
I have upgraded the site to VM 2.6.8 and the double ordering issue still persist, can you please tell me what might be wrong?

If a user orders something it get 2 emails for the same purchase?!

If you updated from earlier versions, you might have to check 'Default Order Status to send email to shopper' in VM configuration > Checkout tab. I suppose you have "Pending" and maybe "Confirmed by shopper' selected. In this case you can delete 'Pending', which will prevent sending the order email twice.
