Hi there,
We have installed Virtuemarkt webshop with Joomla 2.5.17 but have two issues with creating new users and forwards to payment provider page.
Issue 1
When a new user with IE11 is beeing created the user gets the error: "username in use".
Issue 2
After the error the user will also not be forwarded to the payment provider to finish his order. For some kind of strange reason the IE11 user always ends up in a loop after the "username in use" error appears.
When a new user with Google Chrome is beeing created, no error appears.
Google Chrome users can use our webshop as intended and also get forwarded to the payment provider page as intended.
When a new user with IE10is beeing created, no error appears.
IE10 users can use our webshop as intended and also get forwarded to the payment provider page as intended.
Anyone know what the issue is here?
It seems that IE11 and Joomla 2.5.17 just dont like each other.
Why have you used 2.5.17??
the current release is 2.5.24
also no mention of what version VM
have you tested Joomla registration on IE11?
Hi there,
I am not a webmaster but just a cliƫnt trying to find answers to our problem.
Judging your reply i can understand we do not have the most up to date version of 2.5
Our current webmaster installed the website with version 2.5.17 just a couple of weeks ago and claims he is not at fault of the bug I reported in the original post, and says its a problem on a local machine. I dont know if he is or isnt. All i know is i want a solution. However multiple machines that run IE11 have that issue, but not all machines that run IE11. So that is why i posted this issue on Joomla forum first. There the people told me to post it on VirtueMart forum here.
Anyway, do you think this issue is caused by our website running on an old version of 2.5?
Please tell me where i can see the version of VM?
I have tried to find that... no succes.
What do you mean with "have you tested Joomla registration on IE11?".
We have tested registering users on our webshop with IE11.
On some computers the problem we have the error and on some we dont.
All computers run the same version of IE11.

extremely unlikely but you should be on the latest stable always - they update for reasons - not fun

left hand side of every VM admin page
or extensions->extension manager-> manage - find the VM entry

We have tested registering users on our webshop with IE11.
and that is why I asked have you tried a normal Joomla registration.. make a menu to Users->Registration Form and test if the problem is there with a JOOMLA registration
Hi GJC Web Design,
Thank you for your reply.
I checked, we have VM version 2.0.26d.
Dont know if this is the most up to date version.
As for the create normal user test.
I am sorry but i dont know how to create a normal user.
The only thing i can do is go to the USERS menu and then to CREATE USER.
But this is done from my admin account in the back end.
The issues described is a front end issue i guess.

well out of date 2.6.6 is latest stable

Make a normal Joomla menu to -> User manager->Registration Form
Test making a new user from the frontend with that menu
Hi there,
Thank you for information about the version.
Seems we need to update at least. Perhaps that will fix the issue.
As for creating a normal Joomla menu to -> User manager -> registration form.
I really dont know what you mean. I am not technical. I can just change content and pictures and that is about it.
When i login to the backend i can go to USERS > USERS MANAGER >
Then the only option i have is: ADD USER.
This however does not create a menu in the frontend to some kind of Joomla user creator menu as you would like me to.
So sorry but i just dont understand how to "Make a normal Joomla menu to -> User manager->Registration Form"
