I have looked for a solution everywhere but cannot find an answer.
How do I add an additional field in the purchase order view so that I can also see Product Category?
We need to be able to see category so that when the order is collected from the warehouse we know which section to look in - sounds like a very common request so maybe I am just missing something very obvious. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
I am using VM 2.6.6 and Joomla 2.5.20

Maybe an hidden customfield only for admins with the storage number is even more interesting?

yes that would really help!! if we can get the category also and/or this field then that would be a life saver!
I can create the custom field and give it a value but how do i proceed in making it visible in the purchase order?

Loading the category of a product would be an extra sql per order and slow down the order list. I think most suitable for you is a layout override. We can do that within an hour for you http://extensions.virtuemart.net/support/support-for-1-hour-detail
