Title: How to limit manufacturer dropdown according to found products [search module]
Post by: gus.emm on July 21, 2014, 11:49:01 AM
when i search for products via the default virtuemart search module, the manufacturers dropdown is populated by all the available manufacturers of the shop. However, i want it to show only the manufacturers that are related to the products that were found.
i updated virtuemart and aio to 2.6.6, but still the same problem.
i even disabled all template overrides, but that didnt help either.

Does anyone have the same problem?
any clues?

Not anyone??
Yet it seems it remains a bug even to the last version (2.6.6) of virtuemart.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

It is not a bug.

We have a manufacturer dropdown. What you want is a manufacturer dropdown, depended by the displayed products or products of the displayed category.

thank you for taking the time to respond.

However, isnt it meant to show only the manufacturers that are associated with the found product?instead, when the search module finds a product, the manufacturer dropdown lists all manufacturers no matter if they contain such a product.
this way, customers cannot really filter found products by manufacturer.
This happens only in the search module and not when selecting a category menu associated with virtuemart. in the latter, it works as expected.

If you are interested we are working on our own keyword search module which will be part of our custom filters suite.
This feature will be there soon: http://breakdesigns.net/extensions/custom-filters
