I'm pretty new to Virtuemart and am currently trying to set up a webshop.
However, I've run into a problem concerning custom fields for products - hopefully it's just a misunderstanding on my part?
When trying to add a custom field to a product the dropdown options menu remains empty (for screenshot see attachment)
Is it just me misunderstanding the concept how it's supposed to work? That IS the place to create custom fields, isn't it?
I set up the Joomla! installation via the VM-Bundle (VM2.6.6 and j2.5.20, immediately updated to j2.5.22), since that seemed to be the best way to assure everything works properly.
Could someone help me out here? Thanks!

You need to define your custom field/s first in admin->products->custom fields
they are then available to each product in the dropdown and can be assigned
