Title: Advanced Grid view and the list of products in this category?
Post by: kepa on June 30, 2014, 14:35:31 PM
Good day!
I think a very important element in every online store - it's an opportunity to submit a list of items in tabular form or expanded! here is an example
http://prntscr.com/3pjji5
http://catalog.onliner.by/tabletpc/~add=0~sort_by=best~dir=asc~where=actual~currency=USD~city=minsk

strange why this component vm2 as such is not possible and there but I have not found. Module not found

here found a template for VM1 and VM2 needed
http://prntscr.com/3pjkjm
http://demo.joomlaxtc.com/kraftwerks/index.php/gardening?page=shop.browse&category_id=7

who can share information? Thank you!

The layouts produced by VirtueMart are easily customised using template overrides, so you can make almost any layout you want, and add extra JavaScript if necessary. If you don't know how to do it and a suitable commercial template is not available from one of the template suppliers, or here (http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?board=135.0) or on the extensions directory (http://extensions.virtuemart.net/vm-templates), then you could maybe commission a developer to build it for you. There is a commercial jobs section here: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?board=18.0

@jenkinhill: Can we change the layout of VM via plugin, instead of doing template override? At lest with the layout of individual product, or just its image gallery..

I tried to search through the forum but all links seem too old or link to nowhere.
Can you point me out a page to start with  :) ?

Thanks,
OJB

@kepa + @GJC Web Design: I really don't understand what you are talking about, but the links in your signature let me know why :p
All I need is yes or no, or just an url of sample is much appreciated

You "could" use a "plugin" instead of template overrides if that plugin altered VM output and contained its own overrides. I don't think anyone has made one to do something like that as template overrides are so easy to use. I have seen a third party VM theme (ie template & css overrides) described as a plugin by the developer.

Ha - links in my signiture have nothing to do with it .. do u see a link to "magical template over ride that knows what u want and does it" ?

you asked if to use a plugin to alter the rendering of information already available in the views..

we said - why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut - template over rides are what you use -- but you can believe what ever you want - it's a free world...

Sorry for my words and thanks for your info. So there has just a way is template over rides - no plugin like Joomla - hope that will be added in next release :)
