Title: redirecting to https when moving to Shipping address form
Post by: heidikas on May 27, 2014, 10:39:45 AM
Hey,
I'm quite new to Virtuemart and I'm not a developer, so I have a question about the https protocol. I'm usin Virtuemart 2.6.2 with Joomla 2.5.20
If the user is registered, then no address is enetered (is it correct, or should I setup something differently?) when selecting a product and adding it to the shopping chart, then notification for filling Bill To and Ship To addresses appears, but when I want to enter the Shipping address, then site is opening on https protocol and I get error. How to setup this correctly, I could not find similar topic in here and user manuals do not say what to do.
Anyone?

If you don't have https configured on the server with a security certificate thhen you should turn off "Enable SSL for sensitive areas (recommended)" in Configuration/Shop

Thanks alot! It solved my one problem with https , but the other problem is that once user is registered, at the moment it does not register shipping on billing address and when adding products to shopping chart then it starts to fill address information. Is it possible to setup VirtueMart and Joomla so, that registering once all address and shipment information also?

Normally in a VM setup we don't use Joomla registration at all

it just confuses the client and serves no purpose - when they register via VM they are added automatically into Joomla
