Title: Assign calculation rule also to subcategories
Post by: gba on April 21, 2014, 18:15:23 PM
Hello all!

I want to add a surcharge to the product prices:
Generally it shall be 10%.
Products in Category_Y and its subcategories shall have 5% surcharge, and products in Category_Z and its subcategories 50%.

How do I configure the calculation rule(s), to achieve that without having to assign each subcategory to the respective rule?

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

Best regards,
Gerald

VM version 2.6.0

I really dont understand your request.

What could be more easy than creating 2 rules and assigning the respective categories or subcategories inside each rule????

What you expect a programmer to improve there in a function which is already so simple.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply.

What I need is not that easy, as it seems to you.
Actually there need to be three rules (if I am right): one for 10% surcharge, one for 5% and one for 50%.

Then there are these three categories as stated above.
The subcategories are automatically updated daily via CSV import. It is not possible to assign all the >1100 categories to the rules manually every day.
Therefore I am looking for a solution to tell VM, that the rules should apply not only to the assigned categories, but also to their subcategories, no matter how deep the hierarchy below them is.

I hope this is more clearly now.

Best regards,
Gerald
