Has anyone got a solution to this issue - I am having the same problem (Joomla 2.5.18 | Virtuemart 2.0.26d)
My system is still in development with a very small number of products, so the issue below is not critical, but may prompt me to try using Hikashop. I'd prefer to stick to Virtuemart as it integrates better with AEC and Joomdle that I am also using.
1 I go to the checkout page - My Paypal express is showing up as the only payment method
2 I login
3 select checkout
4 Get asked to select my payment method, save
5 Select checkout
6 I get sent to my Paypal sandbox account login (all good).
7 I return to the checkout page
8 Select checkout
9 Get asked to select my payment method, save
---Then end up in a loop 7 - 9.
I also appear to have now broken the Orders page to - No new orders are being added in the interface or the orders table in the database. I manually deleted the only order in the orders table, plus records in the order_calc table. What needs to be restored to have this function again? I had also attempted to delete the only order in the interface, initially, but this created another error 'Order could not be deleted' and the resulting record had no detail (order no, etc.)
Just for reference, it will not be the end of the world if I have to uninstall Virtuemart and 'reset' it - Reinstating the small number of products will not take too long. What I am concerned about is that I have encountered a bug that could happen again, only this time when the site is Live. What I'm asking for is the sequence of events that writes the order information to the database and what validation could be preventing it from writing it at all?
Same problem here, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Check that One Page Checkout is turned off in Configuration/Checkout
