Title: Problem with navigation links
Post by: notanothernumber on February 17, 2014, 01:45:15 AM
I've got a new site about to launch - http://simplysleepwear.com.au/new-site/ - and having a problem with one link on the site which to me doesn't make any sense!! If you visit the site all the links across the top are set up as VirtueMart ยป Category Layout but the first link 'womens' add the words 'Categories' to the SEO friendly url, which makes it return a 404 error page. None of the others do this? Any one got any ideas??

Cheers martin

Hi Notanothernumber
I would start with the basics.

1) Purge your cache - check to see if this resolves it
2) Go into your Menu system that is generating your global nav and see what the alias is - this will be in either the category page in Virtuemart for the: Womens Category, of the: Menu System, for that item.

Hi Jazajay
Thanks for the ideas but neither worked!! In the end I deleted the menu item and redid it (exactly as I had before) and it worked??!! Not making sense...

Cheers

It does, because the entry was in the database that was causing the issue - normally for me this is down to the Alias.

No worries, glad you got it fixed.

You might want to mark this one as solved from the drop down on the first thread so others no what you did to resovle it :)
