Working on a backup to upgrade..
I am having crash issues with akeeba in this directory and I backup fine when I exclude it. do I need these files.. or can I clear them out.

Is this a VM Folder for the Invoices? Man it's huge, it even locks up my ftp for some reason

Installed version 2.0.22a
Joomla 2.5.17

You do not need the tcpdf cache.

Can I ask what folder and files are? I am starting think this folder is the culprit of my server issues sometimes. I read somewhere about google caching pdf files in this folder.

In recent versions of VM the cache has always been empty on my sites. It should only be a temporary store anyway. Google will not cache files on your server! Simple to deny access to caches anyway in robots.txt
