I hope all is well!
I'm currently using a template called Kallyas from Hogash. What I notice is that when i go to the Cart page and click on Continue Shopping - nothing happens, it remains on the Cart page.

Just go to Cart and see what happens. Even when I'm under a certain category, and then go to Cart, and click on Continue Shopping, it doesn't take me back to the category I was last viewing as I'm presuming it ought to.
Please help.

I don't know idf this is the cause of the issue here, but you are installing jQuery1.8.2 for VirtueMart to use, yet the highest version number compatible with fancybox (and for VM to function properly) is 1.7.1 - and the default for VirtueMart is 1.6.4
Turn off SEF and see if that fixes the url issue, otherwise you may need to ask the template provider. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0
